The rarest of the rare blood group — the Bombay blood group — comes in handy for director Chandrasekhar Yeleti to spin a gripping tale that revolves around organ sale, bankrupt banks, Mumbai mafia and real estate dealing.

Sona Bhai (Mahesh Manjrekar) rules the Mumbai underworld. He amasses so much wealth that his heart can’t take it. So he needs an urgent heart transplant. He can easily kill a person for a heart but then he belongs to the Bombay blood group. His comes across some but their blood is contaminated. Time is running out. He puts his sidekick (Nasser) and the entire underworld on the lookout.

Enters Kiran (Gopichand) whose heart suits Sona Bhai. He is in Mumbai to to sell off a guesthouse that belongs to his dad (Suman) whose bank — Sri Venkateswara Bank — is on the verge of closure. As fate would have it he falls into the hands of Sona Bhai’s men. They go for his heart and he goes for their jugular.

The director ropes in another Mumbai girl Neha Julka. She acts as the real estate dealer who in course of events falls in love with Kiran.

While the story turns absurd towards the end, the fight sequences by Allan Amin, Ram Lakshman and Vijay grips the audience. The director also adds a steamy item number with Tamil actress Rahasya to boot.

Telugu cinema is sure to see more of Mahesh Manjrekar unless of course he takes time off from his directing. Bramanandam’s comedy stands out. His just one anecdote tickles your funny bone no end.

Gopichand steals the thunder. He does his roles as easily as they come — as a carefree son of a banker, a fighter and as a humble son. Director Chandrasekhar exploits his histrionics no end and gives the audience the edge-of-the-seat thrill.
