Amidst all the hype surrounding the release Ram Charan Teja comes across as someone who has his feet firmly planted on the ground as he lets us into his thoughts in an interview.

One wonders what thoughts could be running through the mind of the 22-year-old who is being hailed as the next superstar even before the release of his first film, “Chirutha”. Being the son of a super successful father is hard enough and one must be a brave man indeed to choose to follow those illustrious footsteps.

Excerpts:

On Pre-release Jitters: I am totally blank right now. The fact that it’s my movie release is still sinking in because I was shooting till last week. The prospect of watching the premier was a little unsettling as I didn’t know what to expect. I will be eagerly looking forward to the response of my family, the film fraternity and fans of-course.

The Experience So far: I will let the audience have announce their verdict. I have put my best, being conscious of living up to the expectations of millions of my dad’s fans. I’ve had the opportunity to work with the best in the industry - ace director Puri Jagannadh, music director Mani Sharma - in my very first film and it’s just been fantastic. All I can say for now is that Chirutha is going to be a great entertainer. I am not the movie myself, but just a part of it.

Was Acting A natural Choice?: When you are born into a family that lives and breathes cinema, I guess it is only natural to take to it. I do not remember even thinking of being anything else. I got trained in the basics of acting from Kishore Namit Kapoor in Mumbai, but most of it is picked up from the institution that my home is.

On Comparisons: I realise I cannot stop people form drawing their comparisons. Those are big shoes to fill, and the least I can do is not let it get into my head. I try my best to keep my mind focussed on the job at hand. My career has just started and I am aware of the responsibility that comes with being the son of an icon like my father. I am excited about the challenge of carving a niche for myself in the industry.

It is biggest premiere show ever hosted in Andhra Pradesh. Megastar Chiranjeevi’s son Ram Charan Teja’s maiden movie, “Chirutha”, premiered in a grand manner on Thursday (September 28, 2007) night at Prasads Multiplex. Entire Chiranjeevi family members, all the leading film personalities and industry personalities attended the ceremony.

In true Hollywood style, red carpet premiere was held and the entire five screens in the complex were booked for it. Producer Aswini Dutt and his daughter Swapna Dutt arranged the show in a true international manner.

Megastar Chiranjeevi with his wife Surekha watched the movie in Screen 1 of the complex. They sat in the ‘A’ row. On the same row, a little further Pawan Kalyan and his wife Renu Desai, Nagababu and his family members sat and enjoyed the movie.

Before the screening began Ram Charan came to the screen and met Pawan and Nagababu. Allu Arjun accompanied him all the while-Telugu Cinemass.

This is the story that is making rounds in internet through emails as the story of “Chirutha”. The truth in this is not known but we have to wait and see if it coincides with the original.

Durga (Jagapathi Babu) is a big factionist in Hyderabad. He has a sister (Neha) whom he takes care off from her childhood and she is very dear to him. Durga has a rival Taslim Khan based in Old city and Neha’s life is under threat because of the gang fights between both groups

Neha is always followed by bodyguards and her body guards try to beat up some innocent student in college thinking he might be having links with Khan. Somebody in college calls his friend on Mobile asking to help his innocent friend. A series of Phone calls are shown and msg reaches some one and the phone calls stop with this guy. He is none other than Charan Teja who gives life for friendship. He comes to the college in minutes and here is the introduction fight of hero. Elevation of hero is handled excellently by Puri Jagannadh and this is by far the most powerful introduction any new hero got in last decade.

The scenes following revolve around how heroine gets impressed by charan’s quality risking his life for somebody he doesn’t even know and she falls in love with him in her first look. First half of movie goes really fast with good comedy timing by Charan and his friends (Sunil,Venumadhav etc). There are some gripping moments in the movie when Jagapathi Babu and Charan meet one another and Jagapathi Babu doesn’t know that Charan is the same guy who hit his men in college. Interval bang comes in a way where Charan goes to Old city into Khan’s den, gives him warning and comes back. By the end of first half, the expectations of people will be set very high about the second half.

Second half deals with how Charan shows the power of youth to fight out both gangs in the city with his intelligence and how Charan manages to win his love by overpowering Jagapathi Babu. The film has to be watched on screen and is a treat to fans and very enjoyable to movie lovers.

The much talked about film in recent times is Charan Tej’s “Chirutha”. The film is finally hitting the screen on September 28th. And it has less than 10 days to go for release. But so far, the trailer of the film has not yet been released.

It is understood that Chiranjeevi is not happy with the earlier trailer of the movie that was made and stopped its release. Now he is said to be personally supervising the work on the trailer.
